Dear Players!
Today we have a very special update for you. For the very first time, you will have the opportunity to style your horse by braiding its tail! To do this, simply type "/tail" in the ranch chat. You will see the change in your horse's tail after going to another ranch or a race room. The braid will look different depending on the type of your horse's original tail. A short horse tail will turn into a shorter braid, and in case of a curly tail the braid will get additional volume! The color of the ribbon currently depends on the color of the tail, and in the future we plan to make the ribbon recolorable. The appearance of the braids is also not final and small improvements may be added over time. The basic braid is the first from a wide series of decorative mane and tail styles planned in the future!
The tail styling function is currently experimental and therefore has some minor limitations. For example, the braids are visible at the ranch and in races, but currently not visible in the shop or inventory. Also, we have not yet decided on how exactly the new function should work. Initially we planned to implement the tail and mane decorative styles as accessories that could be put on like armor elements. This approach is quite convenient, because in this case, when changing a horse, the selected tail style is automatically applied to it, in the same way as the selected armor. However, once a wider selection of decorative styles become available, it may appear that different types of tail and mane styles fit better to different horses. Therefore, some players may prefer an alternative implementation of this function in the form of a "beauty shop", where you can style the mane and tail for each horse individually. Unlike an accessory, a horse's individual decorative style can be preserved even when the horse is in the paddock.
We are wondering which implementation of decorative tail and mane styles would you prefer: in the form of an accessory that can be put on the currently selected horse in the inventory like other armor elements, or in the form of an individual decoration for a specific horse, which is visible all the time, even when the horse walking around the ranch without a rider?
By the way, if you got interesting ideas for future decorative tail and mane styles, you can suggest them in the comments!
We hope you enjoy the new function!
