After recent Windows updates many players experience major compatibility issues with Windows Defender. Specifically, in some cases the game doesn't start when Windows Defender is active. The reason for this is that the game launcher uses non-trivial techniques to modify the game code in real time in order to support additional functionality, such as recoloring, horse accessories, additional horse slots etc. Some anti-viruses mistakenly mark these non-standard techniques as a threat, even though running the game is completely safe. This is not a new issue, and it happens from time to time, but normally such issues get resolved on its own after the next Windows update. This time the problem didn't go away after subsequent Windows updates, therefore we will try to fix it manually. It might take some time, and it is not impossible that we would have to temporarily disable some game functionality in order to guarantee its reliable startup, but we will do our best to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Some players also reported that Windows Defender sometimes also blocks the game installer from running. This issue is somewhat different, but technically it can also be resolved by switching to an earlier version of the game installer. The only drawback of doing it is that players would have to wait longer on the initial game update when they run the game for the first time. And of course, we would also have to put a lot of effort to completely reorganize the installation setup, but that should be doable.
